The HollerBox integration tracks two things inside your HollerBox popups as conversions: when a visitor submits a popup's form, and when a visitor clicks a button or link in a popup. You choose which popups to track, and each one can have its own conversion label.
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Enable the Integration
- In your WordPress admin, go to Settings → Conversion Bridge → Integrations.
- Find HollerBox in the list and turn it on.
Step 2: Choose Which Popups to Track
Click the gear icon next to HollerBox to open its settings. Every HollerBox popup on your site is listed there with two checkboxes:
- Form submissions: tracks a visitor signing up through the popup's form. Default label: "Popup Signup: [popup title]"
- Button clicks: tracks a visitor clicking a button or link inside the popup. Default label: "Popup Button Click: [popup title]"
Check the ones you want to track. Each checkbox has an optional custom label, and if you use ad platforms that need their own conversion ID (like a Google Ads conversion label), you can enter it under Advanced settings for that row. Learn more about conversion labels and values.
Step 3: Save Settings
Click Save HollerBox settings to start tracking your conversions. New popups you create later show up in this list automatically, unchecked, so nothing is tracked until you turn it on.
How It Works
- A form submission is tracked only after HollerBox confirms the signup went through. If HollerBox reports an error, nothing is tracked.
- Signups from HollerBox's chat-style popup and from popups using your own pasted HTML form are tracked the same way as the standard form.
- A popup that shows a success message after signing up is still tracked once, even though HollerBox redraws the popup to show the message.
- Button clicks cover HollerBox's own call-to-action button (the "Notification with button" template) and any buttons or links you add to the popup's content. The popup's close button, the form's submit button, and the "by HollerBox" credit link are not counted as clicks.
- The click is recorded before the visitor is sent to the button's link, so it's tracked even though they leave the page right away.
- When several popups appear on the same page, each one is tracked on its own with its own label.
HollerBox only saves a signup when the popup has at least one integration set up in HollerBox (for example an email notification, Groundhogg, or a webhook). If a popup has none, HollerBox throws the entry away, so there is no conversion to track.
Forms From Other Plugins Inside a Popup
You can place a form from another plugin inside a HollerBox popup with a shortcode, like a Gravity Forms or WPForms form. HollerBox doesn't track those forms itself, so they aren't part of this integration. They're tracked by Conversion Bridge's integration for that form plugin instead, the same as anywhere else on your site, so make sure tracking is turned on for that form in its own integration.
Tracked Data
Every event includes a conversion label and conversion value.
Form Submission Events
id: the popup IDtitle: the popup titletemplate: the HollerBox template the popup uses
Enhanced conversion data
These come from what the visitor typed into the popup and are sent as enhanced conversion data. HollerBox uses a single name field, so Conversion Bridge splits it at the first space into first and last name.
email: the visitor's email addressfirst_name: the visitor's first namelast_name: the visitor's last namephone: the visitor's phone number, when the popup asks for it
Button Click Events
id: the popup IDtitle: the popup titletemplate: the HollerBox template the popup usesbutton_label: the text of the button or link that was clicked
Custom Event Labels
Each checkbox has an optional label field. If you leave it blank, the default is used. You can use %title% in your label to insert the popup's title, for example "Exit intent signup: %title%".
