Document Library Pro

Conversion Bridge tracks document downloads, lead capture form submissions, and document submissions from the Document Library Pro plugin. You can enable tracking globally for all documents, configure it on individual documents, or use both approaches together.

Overview

The Document Library Pro integration supports three types of conversion events:

  • Document downloads -- When visitors download files from your document library
  • Lead capture form submissions -- When visitors fill out a lead capture form to access a document
  • Document submissions -- When visitors submit documents through the front-end submission form

Download tracking can be configured globally (all documents at once) or per-document. Lead capture and document submission tracking are global settings.

Setup Instructions

Enable the Integration

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Settings > Conversion Bridge > Integrations.
  2. Find Document Library Pro in the list and enable it.

Each event has a checkbox to turn tracking on or off, plus an optional custom label field where you can change the default label text.

Configure Events

  • Track all document downloads -- Fires a conversion event when a visitor clicks a download button. The default label is "Download".
  • Track lead capture form submissions -- Fires a conversion event when a visitor submits a lead capture form to access a document. The default label is "Lead Capture".
  • Track document submissions -- Fires a conversion event when a visitor submits a document through the front-end submission form. The default label is "Document Submission".

Click Save Changes when you're done.

Per-Document Settings

You can also configure conversion tracking on individual documents. This is useful when you want to track only certain documents, or when you want a specific label or value for a particular document.

  1. Go to Documents in your WordPress admin and edit the document you want to track.
  2. In the Conversion Tracking metabox on the right side of the editor, check Enable Conversion Tracking.
  3. Optionally enter a custom Conversion Tracking Label and Conversion Tracking Value.
  4. Click Update to save the document.

When global download tracking is enabled, the per-document checkbox is checked and disabled -- all documents are tracked automatically. You can still set a custom label and value for individual documents. A per-document label overrides the global label for that specific document.

Bulk Actions

You can enable or disable per-document conversion tracking in bulk from the Documents list screen. Select the documents you want to change, then choose Enable Conversion Tracking or Disable Conversion Tracking from the Bulk Actions dropdown.

Platform-Specific Fields

Some ad platforms (like Google Ads) require their own conversion identifiers. When those platforms are enabled in Conversion Bridge, additional fields appear in the Conversion Tracking metabox for each document. Enter the platform-specific conversion ID or label to ensure proper attribution.

How It Works

Document downloads: When a visitor clicks the download button for a tracked document, a file download conversion event is sent to all your connected analytics and ad platforms. The event fires on the click itself, so it captures the action whether the file opens in a new tab, triggers a direct download, or goes through a lead capture gate.

Lead capture form submissions: When Document Library Pro requires visitors to fill out a lead capture form before downloading, Conversion Bridge tracks the moment the form is submitted. The event includes the visitor's name and email from the form fields, which supports enhanced conversions on platforms like Google Ads and Meta Ads.

Document submissions: When a visitor submits a document through the front-end submission form, a form submission conversion is sent on page load after the successful submission.

Tracked Data

Every event includes a conversion label and conversion value.

Document Download Events

  • id -- The document ID
  • title -- The document title
  • file -- The file URL

Lead Capture Events

  • id -- The document ID
  • title -- The document title
  • file -- The file URL
  • _email -- The email address entered in the lead capture form
  • _first_name -- The first name entered in the lead capture form
  • _last_name -- The last name entered in the lead capture form

Fields prefixed with an underscore are personal data fields used for enhanced conversions.

Document Submission Events

Document submission events include only the conversion label. No additional data fields are sent.

Enhanced Conversions

The lead capture event automatically collects the visitor's email, first name, and last name from the lead capture form fields. This data supports enhanced conversions on platforms like Google Ads and Meta Ads, improving conversion matching accuracy.

No extra configuration is needed. When a visitor fills out the lead capture form, Conversion Bridge reads the form data and sends it along with the conversion event.

Data Type Key Source
Email _email Lead capture email field
First Name _first_name Lead capture first name field
Last Name _last_name Lead capture last name field

Enhanced conversion data is only sent to platforms that support it.

Custom Event Labels

You can customize the conversion label for each event type in the Conversion Bridge integration settings. Download and lead capture labels support these placeholders:

  • %title% -- Replaced with the document title
  • %id% -- Replaced with the document ID
  • %file% -- Replaced with the file URL

For example, a label of Downloaded: %title% for a document titled "Annual Report" would be tracked as "Downloaded: Annual Report".

Per-document labels set in the Conversion Tracking metabox also support these placeholders and override the global label for that document.

Default labels:

  • Downloads: "Download"
  • Lead Capture: "Lead Capture"
  • Document Submissions: "Document Submission"
