I recently had the opportunity to be a guest on WP-Tonic with their expert panel to talk all about WordPress analytics heading into 2025. We covered a lot of ground—from my journey into WordPress to building Conversion Bridge, and even looked at where the platform is heading and how tools like AI are fitting into the workflow for product creators like me.
We kicked things off by digging into my background—how I started building websites in the early 2000s, moved into WordPress around 2007, and eventually shifted from client work to product development. That journey ultimately led me to create Conversion Bridge, a plugin built to solve the real-world frustrations of tracking conversions in WordPress across all the different plugins and analytics tools we use.
I shared the challenges that came with launching Conversion Bridge—like balancing development and marketing as a solo founder, and navigating the fast-changing privacy landscape that’s making tracking harder (but not impossible).
We also looked ahead to 2025 and talked about the current state of WordPress. With more tools, more complexity, and more competition than ever, I believe simplicity and privacy-first tracking will be key differentiators going forward. People don’t want to fuss with code snippets—they want data that helps them make decisions, quickly and accurately.
Toward the end of the chat, we got into some fun and reflective territory. I shared some of the AI tools I use, and what advice I’d give my past self if I could hop in an H.G. Wells-style time machine: start focusing on products earlier, and don’t underestimate the power of community and consistency.
