Conversion Bridge 1.5 released: Meta Conversions API, Improved Performance, New Integration
Posted on November 19, 2024
Another release in the month of November – things are continuing to get better with Conversion Bridge! I’m thoroughly enjoying working to make this the best WordPress analytics and conversion tracking plugin each and every week. I greatly appreciate those who provide feedback and notify me of any issues they find to help with the improvements.
Meta Conversions API
If you are doing conversion tracking with Meta Ads, this release now makes it possible for tracking to happen via their Conversions API instead of the default JavaScript tracking methods. This allows for more accurate tracking as some browser ad blockers may block the Meta JavaScript tracking scripts. It will instead use local Conversion Bridge JavaScript to trigger the event and send the conversion data via PHP from your web server into the Conversions API. Learn how to setup Conversion API tracking for Meta Ads.
Improved Performance
All analytics tracking happens after a page load so as not to affect page load times for your users which are paramount. With this release, further improvements have been made to help speed things up:
Database Optimization
The custom database tables created by Conversion Bridge have been optimized to help queries run faster. This will significantly improve query times for sites with lots of traffic, mostly in the administration area.
Data Retention Options
Two new data retention options are now available:
- Days before cleaning – The number of days a page view is saved in the database without any association with a conversion event
- Days to keep tracked events – The overall maximum number of days Conversion Bridge keeps any tracked events
You can have more control over how much data gets stored by Conversion Bridge to better optimize the database for your site.
All your page views and conversion events will always be in your selected analytics platforms. Conversion Bridge never deletes data from those platforms, only from your WordPress database for optimization reasons.
New Integration: SureForms
Conversion Bridge already has a SureCart conversion tracking and SureMembers integration, now I’m happy to announce a SureForms conversion tracking integration! These guys have been pumping out some fantastic plugins the last couple years taking WordPress by storm. I’m sure SureForms will grow just as quickly – especially now that it’s so easy to add conversion tracking to their forms.
Other Updates
If all that wasn’t enough, there is even more:
- Logging system introduced to write important events to a log file to better help with tracking down bugs
- Ability for plugin integrations to start sending personal data (like email, first/last names) which can be used by the analytics platforms where allowed. Currently only used for Meta Ads, this will be expanded upon further for all plugin <> analytics platform integrations.
- Declared support for WooCommerce and HPOS
- Bug fix: Work with EDD when no Confirmation Page is set
Phew! Thanks for reading about all the great WordPress conversion tracking features that are new to Conversion Bridge.
